For those who have seen the Earth from space, a light, delicate sky-blue sphere, our home shot with shades of green and gray laced with slowly swirling veils of white, absolutely round and so touchingly alone, like a small Christmas tree hanging the most holy relic you can imagine in a thick sea of black mystery, that beautiful, warm, living object looked so fragile, so delicate, that if you touched it with a finger it felt strangely unfulfilled (kind of hard R or soft X, but nothing with any overt intercourse).
